  Emergency Migration Group Directories
Under Construction Posted by Fabian Wenk on Friday March 24, @09:51AM
from the this-was-not-our-intention-but-there-is-no-other-way dept.
Because of hardware troubles, we need to move all group directories away from schibe and also to foostock. This will be done tomorrow, on Saturday, 25. March, between 17:00 and 20:00. During this time the group directories (windata, macdata, unixdata) will be limited to read only access. Update informations will be posted here.
Read on for more important informations.

Update: Migration completed at 18:45

To protect you from losing or corrupting any of your files, it is the best to close all open files on the group directories. If accessed through SMB or AFP please also disconnect it before the migration.

Since we have switched to the generic names for our services, the group directories will still be accessible the same way as before, so you don't have to change anything.

During this week one of the hard disks in the server schibe failed and the automatic rebuilding of the RAID-5 to the hot spare disk started. At around 75% of completition it stopped because of read errors from an other disk. Even after several tries it was not possible to rebuild the RAID-5. So the only solution is to rebuild this server from scratch. Currently we are syncing the data regularly to foostock for safety reason.
