Student Workstations to Migrate to NETng
Under Construction Posted by Elmar Heeb on Tuesday August 09, @11:18AM
from the U-Haul dept.
Tomorrow, Wed. Aug 10 we will change the IP addresses of the student workstations in HPV F 7.1. We expect that the migration will take most of the morning hours. If you need access to your account, please log in to the seminar workstations in HPP H 7.

Update: 10:30 am, Aug. 10, all workstations have their new IP addresses.

Most of the time will be spent waiting for the DNS system to catch up with the new addresses. Depending on where you are on the internet it may take up to 24 hours until the new IP addresses are updated.

Due to the new IP addresses ssh will warn you about that fact. This is to be expected and is no reason for concern. Just let ssh update your "known_hosts" file.

Update: 10:30 am, Aug. 10, all workstations are rebooted and have the new IP addresses. DNS is up-to-date but will take up on the order of 24 hours to propagate throughout the world. One workstation experienced a hard disk failure when rebooted. It will obtain a working hard disk shortly.
